This is Brett's final week with us. He will be leaving on his mission to the West Indies. In celebration, we got a recipe from Don for Trinidad Doubles. Although I'm no street vendor, I think they turned out pretty decent. Can't you just smell the cumin?
Trinidad Doubles RecipeThis week I also thought I'd try a food I've never eaten: Brussel Sprouts. After taking a bite, I think I may have actually eaten them once before when my dad was handing out cash at the dinner table for trying them. I don't mind them, but we probably won't buy them again on purpose. Adelyn was excited to try them because she loves vegetables, and these ones look especially cute, but she didn't love them; nor did Michael. Mike... he's not picky so he did just fine. If you like brussel sprouts, this would probably have been a good recipe for you.
To make up for it, we pulled out our favorite "cold campfire" treatFHE S'Mores

Chocolate Frosting
Marshmallow Creme
Spread the frosting on one cracker and the creme on another and mash them together.

Your picture of doubles had me salivating. You did eat them with your fingers - right??? If you ate them with a fork you lost half of the flavor and you also lost half of the experience. The other half goes down the front of your shirt.

We loved all the pictures, congrats to all with the new baby on the way... I can't believe how big Adelyn & Michael are? We miss all you guys!! Wish you were closer to come & see Trenton as Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof"!
