Michael's Almost Three!

So we had to go to Disneyland now... before we had to pay for Michael. We were joined by the nayboorhoods who took the following picture for us. Disneyland e-mailed the following pictures to us. If we would have known we were getting our pictures taken, we might have not had such determined looks on our faces. We would have put on a face that said, "yep, just here for the kids." You can tell by the looks in the following picture that the kids are saying, "yep, just here because mom and dad dragged us." But we like to tell people they enjoyed it because we really think they did. The longest line we waited in was to see the princesses for Adelyn. She liked it, (but I'm not sure it was worth the wait for me). We also took Adelyn on Splash Mountain. She decided once was "fun enough," but she did like it and she surprisingly liked Pirates. Michael liked Dumbo a lot. I think it helped that we hyped up the Dumbo ride and how it works for about a week before the actual adventure.

Overall it was a fun trip. Mike even got interviewed by a Korean news station while we were in Las Vegas. The interviewer asked about the economy.

Pefect Timing

We left for a quick family vacation Wednesday night. We made it part-way and stayed in Vegas at the Statosphere ($28 through Hotwire). The next morning Joey had a tooth. Perfect. Now he wouldn't have to teethe the rest of the vacation.Well, except he must have been teething at Disneyland too because he got his second tooth at Mimi's Cafe that night. He was sure a good little guy though.

Football Season

If you enjoy BYU football at all, you might have wished you were here with Mike and G man at the UCLA game for the shutout.Or here at the Wyoming game with Mike and I for the shutout.
If you enjoy hometown football at all, you would have loved the homecoming parade.

But maybe not have loved the fire engine's wail.

Fish and Ducks

Adelyn took this picture and I thought it was pretty creative. It's of me fishing with real bait. The kids would know if it wasn't... however there may have been a lot of hook showing, and maybe some rocks in it so that the bait didn't float. I didn't really want to catch anything since Mike wasn't there to pull it off the hook.
We were fishing at the duck pond. The kids have a little love/hate relationship with the ducks. The big duck (?) at the end was honestly as big as Michael.

A Time for Celebration

Mike asks every day if we can have another celebration to commemorate the house/garage finally getting all painted. It has taken us over a year, and ultimately a crew of reinforcements to finally finish it. So, some pictures for our helpers... a finished project- door, shutters, trim, moulding and all.THANK YOU!!!

Look Who Is Crawling!

Not Joey.

Michael.
His foot got tweaked while he was out playing and he hasn't walked on it since Saturday night. Today (Thursday) he is putting a little weight on it and making plans to be back on his bike. He received his annual x-ray and everything looks unbroken. It has been a little different trying to get around town carrying a car seat and a nearly 3 year old.

I forget he is still sore and ask him to "run and get me a diaper for Joey." He gets a sad little look on his face and says, "that would hurt me!" Poor little guy. You can see his wrapped foot in the picture. He calls it his "bange" and is very needy of said bange.

Labor Day means Labour

Work, work, work. Thanks to everyone who came to help paint our garage. We got it all finished, except for some trim work (stuff I can do, little bits at a time).

Here is some of the paint crew, Mom C was also part of the hard-working group of painters.
This is Michael "working," too. The real work was keeping an eye on our helpful painters :)
The kids built some zucchini boats to enter in the "crazy horticulture" section of the county fair. We definately had all the craziest entries!
We also ran the traditional Labor Day 5K, this time with newcomer Don. We didn't see him after the start, he took off like a gazelle.
