Facebook is...
A. A big party where you know you're not going to get to know anyone any better while you're there, but it's fun and you get to see all your friends.
B. Like that Game Show, "This is Your Life," where you're not only able to reunite with your first kiss, but the janitor from your elementary school too.
C. Like a tapestry, where people you've known are like threads woven to create a beautiful design. The good, the boring, the intelligent, the bossy, the bright.
Also, I think he told me in his delirium, that the tapestry was actually at the party. (he's been working late nights and early mornings for the last few days).
None of the descriptions have thus far enticed me to join, so please add your own.
Knowing that I will eventually jump on the bandwagon, I've made up a couple practice profile pics that seem to fit the ticket from what I've seen.
A declarative statement to your old high school friends who had a crush on you, "I'm married."
(This is the one I chose for Mike).
Not a picture, but a symbol of who who you are
Not me at all, but my adorable kids
Only half of me (of course my "better" half)
A Picture of me taken at the awkward angle of a 3 year old.
A picture of things around me, or where I'm from
A picture from the 80's. I think this is really working for people who want to look 20 years younger.
And last, but not least, I'm going to use the third party application "Make Me a Supermodel" to turn one of my pics into someone that Hannah Montana would say "yes" to when I ask her to be my friend!!

i liked that post--clever wording. and i definitely vote for the the third party "hannah montana" picture. awesome! can't wait to see you on facebook...
OH Honey! why pick just one. You can change them daily, not just pictures of you personally but your feet, your dog, your new kitchen cabinets. Bored with things around the house, pick any super model, favorite movie star or any movie star. Still have more time on your hands. Start taking facebook quizes...What random element or periodic element are you? You may have to get a nanny if you get on facebook....but don't let me stop you, I'm on there... once a week for about 5 minutes. Yeah, I know, I'm boring.
You are so cute! I love all your different profile picture options. I do have to agree with your friend Karen though...I am just not a fan of facebook. I know I'm obsessed with blogging, but facebook doesn't attract me in the least. I hardly ever get on it. I must be one of the crazy few because most people seem to be sucked in.
Loved your post! Every bit of it is true (how sad is that?) I still prefer blogging, but I've enjoyed catching up with acquaintances and old friends on facebook. Hope you'll accept my "friendship!" ;)
i like the "only half of me" one. can i be you friend? (:
It's about stinkin time girl. :) Ok I only joined in Jan but I agree with Mike. It's just crazy the people you run into on there. Plus there is the whole crazy, "wait you know my friend, how do you two know each other?" stuff.
This is GRRRReat! Very clever post & I love the pics. I have found the answer- dad is on facebook & I use his to check on things! Works for me :) .
Facebook is...
a corn maze. You get lost almost immediately, but it's kind of fun to run into other people lost in the maze. But I have to agree that it is a great way to find "long lost" friends that I never would've found otherwise.
This is great! I'll already have at least seven friends. Maybe secretly, that is why I haven't joined yet...
I like the view from a 3-yr-old.
I love the picture of you and Mike together...it sends a clear message of "don't come knocking on my door old loves"! Ha! BTW--your hair is really cute short like that! Wish I could pull that off. So, facebook is fun, and you can choose who you want to be friends with and who you don't want to be friends with. So, I fully expect a friend invitation sometime soon if you decide to do it! Love your blog though. Now that I'm on FB, I've gotten worse about blogging...just too much time at the computer. DON'T STOP BLOGGING--you have a great blog!
