Here are the results from the poll: I didn't give anyone very much time to vote... because we know the answer now.

And, the answer is: Alissa always looks big pregnant, and had eaten a lot that day because the ultrasound says no twins. They checked from top to bottom and found only one little baby. We could always add a picture from the ultrasound later for the journal's sake, but certainly not to show off the alien looking monkey child I am currently housing.

Happy Together

While I was preparing my preschool lessons, the kids ruled their own time and had some great adventures. I am glad they play so well together.Riding a Horse to Cedar City
Fishing by the lakeGoing on a bear hunt... ah!

Bandwagon- here we come

Just like so many other young 3-year-olds, Adelyn started preschool this week. There are 3 other moms beside myself, and 5 other kids. It was only appropriate that Adelyn and Alissa start the preschool out with the letter A. We talked about animals, alligators and ants. What a day!

Here is Adelyn by the "First Day of Preschool" sign, and me making the sign.

Week in Review via Recipe Box

This is Brett's final week with us. He will be leaving on his mission to the West Indies. In celebration, we got a recipe from Don for Trinidad Doubles. Although I'm no street vendor, I think they turned out pretty decent. Can't you just smell the cumin?Trinidad Doubles Recipe

This week I also thought I'd try a food I've never eaten: Brussel Sprouts. After taking a bite, I think I may have actually eaten them once before when my dad was handing out cash at the dinner table for trying them. I don't mind them, but we probably won't buy them again on purpose. Adelyn was excited to try them because she loves vegetables, and these ones look especially cute, but she didn't love them; nor did Michael. Mike... he's not picky so he did just fine. If you like brussel sprouts, this would probably have been a good recipe for you.
To make up for it, we pulled out our favorite "cold campfire" treat

FHE S'Mores
Graham Crockers
Chocolate Frosting
Marshmallow Creme
Spread the frosting on one cracker and the creme on another and mash them together.

Labor Day Weekend- No Days Off!

Mike likes to say that holidays are days on... not off. There's too many fun things to do to take a day off. For example...

We rented the city pool for our own private swim party- diving for money, pool games, and diving board competitions.
Tractor Show- this was mostly for Michael. We can be in the car for an hour on a car ride, not hear a peep from the back until... "TRACTOR." That's how we know Michael is really awake in the back seat.Mike's nummy BBQ

The Labor Day Race and Parade (Race Times... I hope I get some slack for being pregnant. Mike beat me again. A- 26:22, M- 25:08)Hot Dog Eating contest (Mike tied for 3rd place... yuck!) and Pie Eating contests (My pie was frozen, how fast do you think I could really go knawing down a pie with my front teeth?)Lots of Games!

Lots of Family!

And of course, lots of treats from Labor day to Forever (for Mike only).
