Rainbow Birthday

When I told Adelyn I wouldn't recommend a completely pink party (due to the uncommon amount of boys that are her age and would be invited), she decided a rainbow party would be best, so everyone could see their favorite color. We had two rainbow cakes. One for the family party on the day of her birthday and another on the Friday after for friends.Perhaps noticable, we cut her hair sometime in the 3 days in-between parties.

She got a bike for her birthday. We worked on putting together two D.I. bikes to make one (mostly Mike worked and I watched). It worked out very fun. When Adelyn saw the handlebars were a little "used" I told her that she was the recipient of a recycled bike. She was totally down with that. Jack Johnson made this girl green. Also, for anyone who wants to know how many kids we will be having, we have narrowed it down. For sure, less than 14... what a zoo :)HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADELYN! WE LOVE YOU!

Look! Look! I got MY book!

It finally came! I was hoping it would be here before christmas so I could show Mike's mom (it is what we want to do for her birthday). But, better late than never! I learned a few things, so hopfully the next book I work on is flawless. Before you is 2 1/2 years of our blogging lives in hardcover form. I would have included 2008, but then I would have had to buy a book for Joey too.
A special, special shout out to my old college roommate Heidi for putting together the Blogs2Book program. I worked on my book in two different ways to compare, and the other way took me 10 times as long.

Mush Cake and the whole works!

Happy Birthday Mike! We celebrated the big 3-3 with Mike, who is not getting any older. Hence, the complete collection of Veggie Tales Silly Songs! Mike got SPOILED with all the presents and so many people to help open them :)

Christmas Here and There- Christmas is EVERYWHERE!

We enjoyed being able to spend Christmas here in hometown with family. Then, because of a little driving, we were able to spend Christmas with more family. It was a great combination. Christmas Eve we were served a delicous meal by two very willing little brothers and a magnificent chef. We spent the night and all slept downstairs. Adelyn's big present was a "water" doll. I am pleased Santa knew what a water doll was, because I had no idea. Michael's big present was a tool box, which he continues to enjoy. After a late night, and early morning, the kids slept a lot of the drive down south.

Down south was colder weather than expected at first, and then BEAUTIFUL! The kids had fun playing outside, especially since they don't get that privelage very often here in the snow. We only let them play in the snow if they take their shirts off. Just Kidding! Mike made a deal with Michael that he could open a present on Christmas Eve if he'd make a snow angel without a shirt. He wasn't willing to do it again for anything... nor would anyone else.
Our adventures down south included an annual trip to the train park and a bonus trip to the zoo!Doesn't Joey look like he loved the zoo? And this was even AFTER we'd been there all day!Look at my Flamingo Family!
