I'd like to introduce you to some conspiring minds...

This is Nelson.
He taught Braden how to dye his hair chocolate.
This is Braden.
Braden teaches the joys of oatmeal.
And together they are unstoppable.
Using the finest, ingredients, for the biggest messes (honey, chimney soot, moon sand, cloud dough, blackberries, etc).
But they are truly a blessing in our lives.  Truly.
The messes clean up and are gone.  I'm glad I get to keep these boys forever.

Disney's Aladdin on STAGE!

I really, really, really love the stage at Tuacahn in St. George.  The backdrop, the location, the weather... it was all wonderful! Adelyn and I got to join some family for a fun-filled night.

I'm not sure how Aladdin is rated overall as a Broadway show, but this particular performance was incredible!  The cave of wonders was in 3D, there were real camels, real fireworks, and Aladdin and Jasmine rode a flying carpet right over the top of us.  I thought I was going to be a little underwhelmed, because we'd just seen Wicked in Salt Lake, but I was wrong.  I loved it!

Adelyn got fun treats, and stayed up WAY past her bedtime on a school night.  She felt spoiled though, and she really enjoyed it too!  Unlike the kids all around us who were passed-out in a deep sleep, Adelyn's eyes were glued open the entire performance.
Even the parking lot is beautiful!

Adelyn stars as Jasmine.

Our recent "kicks"

We have to keep things interesting around here or we get a little stagnant, or digressive, if that's a word.

Some new things we're doing.

Mike- a year-long sugar contract, Cross-fit at the high school at nights.

Alissa- a year-long sugar contract, Spinning at the gym. (probably the precursor to a triathlon, but it's pretty costly, so maybe not).

Adelyn- new chore money system (chores have to be done before school to get paid).

Michael- same new chore system, switched from top bunk to bottom.

Joey- switched from bottom bunk to top. Kind of on a Play-doh kick.

Braden and Nelson- 'climbing on stuff' kick. 'Redecoring' kick. Normal toddler stuff you might say. (I don't feel as if it's normal, I feel like it's crazy stuff they're up to).

Our holiday of family fun!

Labor Day is always fun-fun-filled. We spent lots of time at the Iron County Fair.  Of course, we love to spend much of our time in the Contest Tent.
We did some Oreo Stacking...

Some Graham Cracker Structures...
The look-alike contest.  (I thought we looked a lot alike until we saw our competitors!)

Then there were a few rides...
The Petting zoo...

And last, but not least, the annual 5k.  Our family didn't have enough participants to retain the family title, but we're recruiting for future years! Adelyn ran with me this time around, and did a great job! I'm glad she likes to run!

Fun weekend... who's coming next year??

Back to School!

Fall kind of started for us when the kids started school.  We stopped going to the pool and have had loads of homework and chores ever since.  Weekends are a luxury again and I have had a couple days of complete silence with just the right combination of naps and preschool.
Joey is in a joy school with one other boy and a couple girls. He is so happy to be in school, and enjoys his time with his friend, Carter. Once in a while, he even gets to go to Paragonah for school
Adelyn is in Mr. Burton's third grade class. She is actually the only one to have loads of homework, but we all suffer :) The first day of school was great for her, the second day she puked in class. It was a rough start, but we know it'll finish fun!
Michael is in Mrs. Rasmussen's first grade class. Once again, he has very few boys in his class and lots of girl that love him and think he is super smart and nice.
