Mom wants a picture of us?

Michael doesn't make blogging very easy on me. A nice picture? Forget it!

Merry Christmas!

Now, you know these pictures are totally staged... but festive! Enjoy the holidays!

The reality of our weekend

Our weekends are usually very, very messy. We usually "recover" Saturday night (for Sunday) and once again Monday morning. It actually doesn't look as messy as it felt last night. Our mess depicts a little about our week: (how exciting, this will be just like Where's Waldo!)
  • Fruit Loops (generic style) for breakfast
  • Wheat grinder (to make up for the fruit loops with homemade pizza)
  • Drill (part of a Christmas present that included an install)
  • Bags of Peanuts from the ward party's Santa
  • Box of Tylenol for our two fevered children

The Importance of vehicular transportation in our lives

One reason Mike now owns a shiny Vespa motor scooter is so that his boy can say,
"My dad is SO COOL!"(michael watching Mike ride off into the distance)

(Mike and Adelyn ready for a ride around the block)
One reason we own a SUV is so we can travel back and forth on business to Colorado without slipping off the road. We hit a doozy of a snowstorm this time around.

Seasonal Bliss

SnowMAN- Crockett Style. Talk about tall, tall, tall! We got our first REAL snow this morning. I love that it was warm enough for the kids to play in, and a Saturday so Mike could play with them. (I requested a pregnant snowman, but they said that was physically impossible to a stack a snowman like that. I think it's a miracle it's physically possible for anyone). Isn't it nice to see a gray house rather than blue?

Adelyn and I are participating in a homemade kid-crafted card exchange this year. She did all the "hard work" and I was the brains of the operation, or at least I thought I was until she started putting the ornaments wherever she wanted instead of where I suggested. They ended up looking perfectly homemade and kid-crafted thanks to Adelyn.
I like to think about the future of our family and holiday traditions. A friend in Colorado made cake rolls as neighbor gifts, so I got the recipe to try the same thing. I think I'm too volatile of a cook to try making too many, but the recipe was so nummy we'll keep is as a holiday family favorite. Thanks Lisa!
