Extra! Extra!

Michael makes the local newspaper. Too bad you can only see his jacket and hair (nice haircut by the way buddy!). Check it out in the Cedar City Review.

Easter Candy

Four days this week have been anti-nutritional. Both of these kid-os fill their mouths with easter candy from the four egg hunts we partcipated in this year, starting on Thursday. 1. Egg hunt with friends. 2. City Egg Hunt. 3. Egg hunt at friends vacant lot (3,000 eggs for 40 kids/simply a work of art for those eager souls). 4. Family egg hunt compliments of the Easter bunny. This year nothing was found until after church.

Hyperbilirubinemia

Joey will be two weeks old this Tuesday and we are still dealing with a little bit of jaundice. So, we have two goals for him:
1. Eat, eat, eat. Both Joey and I are up every two hours day and night trying to prevent more pricking of his heels for bloodwork. Mike offered assistance, but the wee hours of the morning are such a bonding time for me that I declined.
2. Soak up some rays.

Baby S and Baby J reunited

It is so fun to have shared my birthday month with our new baby, and even better that he gets to share it with his new cousin Sophee. I guess somewhere in this post I ought to squeeze in the fact that Baby J stands for Joseph Donald... he finally has a name. They were born just three days apart and Leslie came up to visit yesterday, so we got some pictures of the two of them together (It was nice of her to come, since I'm not the one ready to get out of the house yet... how did you do it Leslie?)

Our baby looks like such a pumpkin face with his orange/yellow skin next to Sophee, so that's why I like the picture of them both screaming (then they're both just red). Their mannerisms and screams and exactly alike. Adelyn really wanted to hold Sophee, especially since she is the girl.

We thought this new baby looked different than Adelyn and Michael did, but we thought we would put everyone to the test:

The New Baby!!!

We are so excited to announce the birth of the most beautiful, newest baby!

Without trying to trick you any further, her name is Sophee and she is our newest niece/cousin. I hope Leslie doesn't mind me posting a picture of her. We got to see her yesterday and she is perfect... almost 8 pounds... and has a great mom and dad.Sophee was supposed to be an inspiration for our little guy to come, but that didn't work. Here is a picture of the two of them together for the first time.

Mike's 1st Surprise

Mike claims he has never kept a secret of his from me in our whole married life. He is good at keeping secrets... just not his own. So, although we had talked about getting a piano (the dud from a previous post DID end up at the dump), he decided my birthday surprise would be to have it here in time for my birthday. It was a very fun surprise!
Adelyn woke up early on Thursday because she was so excited for MY birthday. I don't think she got up too early on her own birthday. She made this sign for me with Mike telling her what letter came next (and sometimes reminding her of what it looked like). They made me a special birthday breakfast and we went to the local Cafe for dinner.

We had homemade waffle cones (the birthday gift that keeps on giving) and homemade ice cream for dessert. It was wonderful!
