We were able to introduce Joey to his next-in-line cousin Amelia. Good thing the MD C's had a boy or Joey would be the solo 2008 boy on either side of the family. It will be so fun to get together with all the cousins.

More cousins for Joey!
We were able to introduce Joey to his next-in-line cousin Amelia. Good thing the MD C's had a boy or Joey would be the solo 2008 boy on either side of the family. It will be so fun to get together with all the cousins.
5 generations

Since we were going to be up north for a baby blessing, we planned to get a 5 generation picture with my great-grandparents (and on down the line). During the car ride to their house, we heard news that great-grandpa had passed away early that morning. I felt blessed to be able to be in his home that day. I picked the "spouse" picture to journal, maybe as a reminder that great-grandma is alone here on earth, but part of an eternal family who loves each other. He wouldn't ever to have chosen to leave her- he really wanted to take care of her. We went back a few days later for the funeral and heard even more about the good memories he has provided for so many generations of family. It is a special thing for me to be surrounded by so many faithful generations of family.

FHE favorites

Thomas Big Loader... it was so fun this week to see how enthralled little Joey was with the moving trains. He loved it! Mike really wanted to go fishing this week, but after several prompts and bribes, Adelyn insisted we play with trains.
PS- in the background is a table runner I worked on in a quilting class. It turned out very well, but with room for improvement.
Swim Lessons

Adelyn just passed her Level I swim class, regardless of the fact that she wouldn't jump off the diving board. She was TERRIFIED! I thought it might help if I could spend a couple hours with her in the pool. So, I dropped sleeping Joey off at Mike's work, squeezed into my swimsuit, and put lifejackets on both kids. After about an hour, Michael was jumping off the diving board continually. He was the most popular kid at the pool. Pretty soon the 10-year-olds were chanting "Michael! Michael!" and he'd jump off like a rock star. I don't think it helped Adelyn's fear any... maybe I'll take her by herself next time.

Random Sampler
What goes around, comes around...
Adelyn teaching her brothers how to play dolls. I don't think she needs any sisters, but she does..
