Work Project! Yeah!

We should have had a seperate blog with all the work projects. It is fun for us to look back and see what we've done since we've been here. It does feel like home, even if everything isn't just right yet.

Mike worked on getting vinyl flooring in the downstairs bathroom and laundry closet. He had to take out and replace the toilet! What a gross job with that yucky wax seal. He didn't even complain.

The Stairmaster

Michael has finally found a way to get down the staircase without going head first. It only took one major crash for him to be wary. We are so happy: we really didn't want to find or put up a gate on our wide stairs. He is also learning to feed himself. Follows- a good way to eat food, and the fastest way to chow down.

Geo "Trashing"

Recently we decided to find out if there were any geocaches in the area. Adelyn was excited to go on a geo"trash" and helped us sort through the booty for a transformer. We are so used to urban caching, that this was a welcome change. We took several, several different dirt roads and found ourselves out at the "Little Salt Lake" which is now just some salt flats outside of Parowan. The cache was nestled up in the mountain, hidden with some bigger rocks. It was awesome!

Welcome to the Blue House

Here's some updated pictures of some of the work we've done to our house. It's coming along, even though there will always be more projects. These pictures just show the carpet/flooring and a painted fireplace.

Green Kitchen

Our Kitchen finally got cupboard doors this past Saturday, making the whole house picture worthy!

*NEW* downstairs

Adelyn's Room, Guest/Sewing Room, Hallway
Downstairs pictures are all about the covered ductwork. See if you can match it up with earlier pictures. We love the change! We're glad we don't have to send Adelyn to the "industrial center" of the house to sleep.

Plumbing Woes

Since we've been in the house, we've had the plumber over 3 times. The 3rd time, we decided we probably had a problem.

Adelyn loved having the plumber over. He brought a snake for us, and a snake for her. He also brought a sewer camera that detected a hard water buildup with a hole the size of the snake that they shoved through a week earlier.Looks as if we have a problem area we'll be fixing ourselves. Thankfully we're not going to have to dig into concrete, this clog is behind the washer and dryer. What a relief.

"Crockett"diles

We're stalling on the final house projects... and spent some time in Provo and Salt Lake, particularly at the zoo. We were thankful for Adelyn the tour guide. She informed us when it was time to see the monkeys.
Her favorites were the giraffes, although peer pressure from her cousin was probably in effect there.

Michael enjoyed the zoo just as much. His favorite was the meerkat that ran back and forth along the glass.

Dynamic Duo

Sometimes, the kids rule the roost when we're busy working on the house. The other day while I was in the kitchen, I heard them coming from the bathroom. Adelyn had my toothbrush, and Michael had the toothpaste. Pretty ironic.

Hey! You can see the new carpet and new flooring on this one! We're still working on final house pictures...

Happy Harvesters

We have enjoyed our garden, and are thankful that the rain has come each evening since we haven't been able to get to it very often with so much house work. We always seem to miss a few zucchini and end up with honkers. I just figured I'd make zucchini bread, but I guess you only need a fist full of it, not 10 fistfulls. We've let the broccoli get away from us as well. Today we came home with enough broccoli to pass around 4 times and still have a bag full for our own fridge.
