Sometimes people ask how often the boys play with each other. I know not all twins are the same, but for now, these boys are mostly always together. It's pretty special to witness how much they love each other.

Tonight is the Night!
The long awaited day is here... performances for "Oliver" start tonight. We're all ready to be done with this particular season of our lives! It has been a very busy few months for us, and Mike has taken the brunt of it. Last night he braved the public and brought all 4 boys to come and watch all 2 hours of the play. In his words, "I don't know what I was thinking." It really wouldn't have been too much of a mess, but the show runs from 7-9. and the babies are usually sleeping around 7. Michael and Joey really enjoyed being there, even if it was just so they could have theatre candy!
Adelyn's picture is in the paper, my hand is in the paper.
She is on the bottom left of the group photo. A good reminder I should try and get some real pictures tonight!
It has been really fun to be with Adelyn for so much time. I wouldn't want to trade that time for anything!

My favorite event of spring!
Kite Flying! I love it! And I think I may have recruited a couple other adventurers! While Michael was flying his kite, he pretended he was announcing the kite flying competition, and what do you know... he won! Adelyn loved it too!
We got it higher and higher until we ran out of string!
Definitely my favorite souvenir from San Francisco! I was somewhat saddened when we had a runaway kite episode. Joey wanted to fly it, but the higher it gets, the harder it pulls, and it pulled right out of his hands. It flew on its own, all the way across the highway and landed on a neighbors roof. I was able to tug in the string from one side, but the roof was too rough and it wouldn't budge. So I went to the backyard, and threw the kite into the air as high as I could. It took off, but I didn't have time to run around to the front and grab the handle, so off it went again. After some detective work, we found it in the back of a different neighbors yard, and finally ended up just cutting the string, because it was draped over a couple people's roofs. At least I got my kite back!
And everyone needs a little entertainment. If it's not kites, maybe ginger snaps is your thing!

March 11th
March 11th, March 11th. We've heard it a billion times as Joey explains that he will be four on March 11th. He either didn't want to say he was three, or he was hoping for lots of presents, because this is the explanation everybody got if they asked Joey how old he was.
We shared a "cake day" again this year, and had family over to celebrate. He gave me elaborate details about how his cake would be, so we tried our best. He wanted a basketball cake, with a cactus as the basketball stand, and a ball going into the basket. Well, we found a few fun ideas, and ended up with this...
Joey's birthday was on a Sunday, so we made special pancakes with sprinkles before our early church, then came home and waited for Dad to get home before we opened any presents. He was thrilled with the presents, and kept asking for more.
We did the traditional streamer and/or toilet paper decorating before he woke up. Usually the kids tear right through it, but he insisted we all crawl under and over it so that it wouldn't get ripped down.
Joey is a much needed, much loved boy. We are so thankful for him. He loves books, and stories. He loves to draw, and watch others draw. He in very creative, and keeps up with the imaginative play of his older brother and sister. He's learned what makes his little brothers happy, and is always willing to oblige. He wants to be a police when he grows up. And really, he already seems to grown up. He's a smart guy for sure! He often says extremely smart things that cause Mike and I to look at each other like, "how do we handle his smartness?" (yes, we're his mom and dad, and lots of us feel that way about our kids, it just comes with the territory of being 100% bias). I adore his contagious laugh. I'm so glad it's not time to go to Kindergarten soon, because I'd be so sad to have him go just yet. He's great to have around. He's my awesome Joey!

30 sounds so old, feels so GREAT!
Goodbye twenty-somethings, hello thirties! It's way more fun to tell people how old I am now. I like to hear them gasp! I'm glad I've aged so gracefully. Went all out for my cake this year- Or threw it together as guests were walking through the door... one of the two.
Can I just say? 2012 is going to be a great year!
We enjoyed eating out at Chile's for my big birthday bash! It was a kids-eat-free day, so even the babies got a kids meal.
Adelyn was a trooper to be there, she was feeling quite ill.
Those boys!! I guess they love straws, who knew?
Some Winter Fun
We really haven't had much great snow this year. However, most recently has been the most fun. The day before a school holiday, we got DUMPED on. We spent the next day sledding. We went twice because it was so fun!
Then, right after my birthday (luckily my actual birthday was gorgeous weather!), we got a storm of really nice, wet, packable snow. Michael and I took advantage! The other kiddos were too sick to come and join us.
Adelyn and Michael re-enacting how they go down the hill as a train.
Michael, trudging through the snow. It was at least a couple feet.
Some baby hanging out with me in the car. I think Nelson, but I can't tell with hats on.
Adelyn's Big Day
It is so fun to see Adelyn reach such a milestone in her life! She chose to be baptized! It was a great time for our family. We had some discussions about baptism and what it was about, and what it might be like. There was so much excitement from everybody in the family about the subject.
When Adelyn went in for her baptism interview, she shared her understanding very well with the bishop. He asked her if mom or dad had given her all the answers. Her response, "Well, Dad gave me a few, but the rest I learned from The Friend magazine."
We were so lucky to have so many friends and family join us. Although it's always a little crowded, we LOVE the company and wish we had more excuses to cram 40 people onto our main level. Adelyn definitely knows that she has lots of people who love her!
