Cusco

We really didn't have a lot of experiences in Cusco. Our collectivo driver was willing to help us find our hotel and luggage that we'd left at a hostel after he dropped everyone else off at the central plaza.  When we pulled up into the neighborhood we were staying, I thought it was a joke.  For sure, I thought it was a joke.  It was dark, the streets were narrow, the windows were barred.  We called the apartment we had rented, and a sweet Peruvian girl came out to greet us.  We pulled our luggage out, and she opened a big iron gate for us to come inside.  It wasn't until we stepped in her house that I decided it really wasn't a joke.  Her place was brand new, and the cleanest of anywhere we ever stayed the whole time.  It was immaculate.  She had tea ready for us, helped us order out some pizza and chicken, and had a wonderful breakfast brought to us the next morning.  It was beef (I assume) empanadas, some rolls with jam, some delicious oranges (we think), and some herbal teas.
This is us, walking out of the neighborhood in which we stayed in Cusco.

We hailed two taxis (the first time we had ever separated our group), and made it to the airport to drop off our luggage, and then spent a couple hours in the artisan's area down the way for some shopping.  After an annoying experience with the driver who took us to the street market, and told us we ripped him off, we took the bus all the way back to the airport, at the cost of less than 1 sol each.  But it was pretty packed!  The pic shows us on the bus, after enough people had gotten off that I could get to my camera.
