Christmas in the Hospital

The kids brought the most festive tree, which made me so happy.  This tree got to stay in the room with me until I left on January 3rd.  It reminded me of the kids and of home.

This is me in one of the more quiet rooms on the Labor and Delivery floor.  This is also me looking super comfy on my cloud-like hospital bed, or at least it seemed that way after spending a few days on a breakaway Labor bed.

One of the hardest parts about being away from the family, was being away from the family for the holidays. This would have been one of those great years where the whole Hamilton Family would be together, plus Grandma Hamilton from California. But, surprise, I was missing. Mike and the kids were so kind to save some presents to open up with me in the hospital.

I'm so happy I got to see Adelyn this package from Michael.  Michael had picked out the perfect present for Adelyn- polly pockets.

I got to see the "big" family present opened too.  What a fun game to bring to the hospital!

It was really a miracle to be able to spend time with the kids in the hospital.  The hospital goes on "lockdown" for kids under 14 once a case of RSV is detected in the region.  RSV season can typically start in October, but this year, RSV didn't start until the day I left the hospital to spend the rest of my bedrest at Leslie's house.  I am amazed at how many little blessings were mine during this crazy and hard time.
