The diagnosis: Monozygotic Monochorionic/Diamniotic twins

meaning... identical twins in the same outer sack, seperate inner sacks, and sharing one placenta.  I didn't know twins could come in so many different ways!  I'm learning so much.  I feel like I'm pregnant for the first time all over again.

I know ultrasounds aren't much to look at unless they're live, but here are a couple shots she printed off.
Baby A, punching Baby B in the tummy

Baby B's head, Baby A's stomach

Apparently, there is still plenty of room, and plenty of fluid for Baby B to give his arms a good stretch.  Both babys were moving in every which way.  It was a little hard to keep track of what was what.
Second ultrasound down, and at least 8 more to go if we make it to full term.

Wow!!! That is so crazy! They are thinking ours are fraternal because they have seperate sacs, 2 placentas and a thick membrane between them, but not absolutely sure until their born. Craziness!!! Did I tell you too, that I have a close friend that just had twin boys too? They are 8 weeks old now. I think Heavenly Father needed to send down a lot of boys to righteous families for this crazy world we live in.

When the boys get older, I can picture them both saying "I was baby A - I was punching your stomach". These are GREAT pictures.

WOW! I can't believe your having twins. How exciting. My daughter is expecting a boy end of January and one of my Laurels - from years past just had twin girls - mono, mono twins. She was in the hospital from 24 weeks on, ultra high risk. She and the girls are doing well.

I remember getting so used to calling my twins Baby A and Baby B that it was hard for me to call them by their actual names when they were born, lol. During one of our ultrasounds we were watching one of the heads jerk back and forth a little bit and wondered what was wrong, the technician was all nonchalant when she said, "oh, he's just getting kicked in the head by his brother" The abuse to one another has already started ;) That is AMAZING that they can tell so much about the babies before they're even born, how fun!

Wow. So much new information that comes with all this new experience. How are you feeling compared to the other pregnancies?

Yay! I'm so excited for you Alissa! It made me laugh when you were explaining what 'baby A' and 'baby B' were doing. It brings back so many memories! I hope you are doing well! Can't wait for more updates!
