Last Saturday, I geared the two older kids up to have a crafty time while the younger kids were sleeping. We pulled out some spray paint, and other materials and I left Michael And Adelyn to read some books while I put Joey and his cousins down for a nap. Seeing as how they usually like to take crafts into their own hands, I shouldn't have been surprised that they went right to work as soon as I left the room. They spray painted these beauties all by themselves... in the kitchen!
Mike got home and assumed I had supervised the spraying and it stunk because we brought them in too early. He left the doors open to air the house out and took the kids for a walk.
They were lucky they were with Dad when I realized what they'd done! My kitchen counter was golden! By the time they got home, my reaction was calm and cool. We talked about how they had done something wrong, and luckily, Mike got the gold spray paint all cleaned off.
If nothing else, they love their Daddy, and were SO excited to make and gift something special! Happy Father's Day Mike!

i like your adventure hats. a lot. it makes me want to pair that idea with another idea (you probably also read about since it was in family fun) that suggested taking a "mystery trip" once in awhile. a mystery trip could be to any place you'd like-a stop for an ice cream cone, a hike, a visit to see a friend. it could be fun to make the adventure hats the signal for a mystery trip...
What fun ideas. I am sure your kids love these hats & all the adventures that come with them! It looks like you all had fun. I am sure the kids will always remember this special Father's Day with the painted presents! It does look like they did a good job painting- didn't miss any places :)It's fun that you got pictures.
