Another Summer of Running

A couple years ago, we dedicated lots of time to running around town. Our goal was to run a 5k each month. It was fun, so we set a new goal this year. We're not as concerned this year about getting in a race each month, but following a strict running schedule that helps us up our mileage. Before this summer, I don't think I'd ever run more than 4 miles at a time in my life. This summer, I already ran a 10k at about the same pace as my 5k.
Lots of people are pessimistic about running, and I am too, until I finish a run. The "runner's high" keeps me going. And I like to win things like medals and family competitions (Sorry I never told you we were racing, Robert. The others of you had fair warning).
(Saturday-5k)Mike and I both ran a 10k and 5k, back to back, last Friday and Saturday. We walked like goofballs for a couple days because we were so sore. Mike earns the "most sore" award. He got a cramp during the 10k, and not only finished, but ran the 5k the next day without stopping. He was nice enough to stop during the middle of the race to stretch it out and take it easy the next day, so that there wouldn't be any injuries that would set us back in our running, and thank goodness for no injuries because I would never do this alone. I love running together with Mike.

Impressive. I am slowly starting to run again. That is great that you and Mike run together. I wish that I could get Jason to run with me. It would be a lot easier to be motivated.

So cool that you guys can do that together. So what do you do with the kids? And when are you coming up to Provo for another run? Actually, I'm not in Provo anymore, so forget that.

Impressive - I think it is fun to see your results and how many races you enter.
