So I must have ruined our fairly new Canon Camera somehow. Canon wouldn't cover the warranty because they think I dropped it. That was that. I bought a new camera (ouch!) and called it good.
Mike, on the other hand, scoured ebay for just the right broken camera and went to work taking out a billion screws and working around all the electrical parts. There were a lot of electrical parts. One specifically called the capacitor that could shock him(I guess kind of a lot).

Not only did he
not get shocked, but he fixed the camera! A fixed camera is worth a lot more than a broken one on ebay. But I don't think he'll be willing to give it up. It's pretty sentimental now.

Here he is with the fixed camera! (he did put the front back on after some initial testing). It looks great and works like NEW!
Just another reason I'm so lucky.

Holy Schmolly I'm impressed there Mike! Seems like a fun project to dive into. I wanna know how long it took him?
