Relaxin' at the beach

Joey was so low-key the whole trip. It was much less of a bother having him at the beach than I would have imagined.
Last week was another fun adventure for our family. We left late Friday night and arrived in Primm, NV (state line) at about midnight. We weren't interested in waiting around for the long check-in line, so we kept driving to Baker, ate some gyros at Mad Greek, found no open motel and kept driving to Barstow where the 10th hotel we checked had an availability. The next door room was partying just as hard as they were in Primm so... we didn't get much sleep that night. I told Mike it was the worst night of my life and he said I've had worse.

We got to see granda H and stay with her Saturday night. The accomodations were a billion times better and the hospitality was exceptional.

We arrived at the BEACH on Monday! We enjoyed having family around and getting to talk with them (at times when we weren't over-occupied rounding up our kids). Thanks to Cheryl and Erin, our local experts, for taking us to some fun waves for the little kids one of the days. The others days we spent swimming and playing on the sand. It's so fun to hear the kids talk about the reunion. This morning, out of the blue, Adelyn said, "Seth is so fun to play in the water with. He's a good swimmer." Michael also fondly recalls getting "nailed" by a wave when he was out boogie boarding with Mike. Thankfully, the beach has brought him to life, so to speak, and he no longer believes he is immortal when it comes to water.

We had a grand time, and will make the beach a frequent travel spot for our family. It seemed to fit our M.O. to a T.
This was better than playing in the dirt for Michael.
Seth with Michael, Alissa with Adelyn. Seth helped her enjoy the waves more than I thought she would.
I didn't get one single picture that wasn't blurry in one place or another. These two are wiggle worms.

This is Mike and the boys preparing table decorations, er ice sculptures for dinner one night.
