Independence- from the kids for an hour

Since Adelyn, Michael and Joey rode in the parade with grandma and grandpa, Mike got to take me for a ride on the scooter (we were also in the parade). This is only time #2 that I've been so fortunate. The first time, Joey was only 5 or 6 weeks old and we left my 9-year-old brother with the kids to go get some bread at the grocery store. Of course we broke down, and it took longer than expected. Sorry to J for making him a little nervous (and yes, I know you're 10 now, but you were only 9 then).
So, the "hometown" scooter club is born. I was a little worried that maybe people would actually take us seriously and want to join, "then what would we do Mike?" We'd start a club! And have scooter rallies! And make an official club patch to wear on our scooter jackets! ...and a handful of recruits are already signing up. Really. We probably tripled our membership in one day. I'm pretty sure if this is going to work, I'm going to need my own scooter, but Mike is hesitant. He must know he looks better with a girl on the back.

It’s definitely the girl on the back that makes the whole ensemble great!!

The scooter sign used to say "Hometown" scooter club, you know, like the town we live in but can't reveal because there are blog stalkers who will get us if we do
