Project: Princess Room

We finished up Phase I of Adelyn's room. We are lacking curtains, a lamp, and the IKEA hanging thing. (maybe a canopy, but I'm afraid the kids will rip it down). But the walls are painted, furniture moved and pillows sewed.
Step 1: Being in the state I am in, I knew I couldn't move down furniture, or rearrange it until I liked it, so Adelyn and I measured her room and cut furniture out (inch for inch) and practiced moving it around on paper. This was our favorite arrangement. Mike moved the bed and my brothers moved down the other furniture. Thanks guys!Step 2: I got the pillows sewed. This would normally be something I would put off for a very long time, but there's not many other projects on my to-do list that require as little physical agility. I wanted the covers to be removable for future flu episodes so I did one with a button closure, one with velcro, and one with a zipper. I like the zipper one the best. Don't ask me why I did them all different, I'm still figuring out why Mike doesn't match his socks.A somewhat finished project. I just can't get over how much I love chair rail. And for the couple weeks that she has been sleeping downstairs, the comeback monsters haven't scared her yet!

What a B E A U T I F U L room! I can tell for sure that this room needs a princess to sleep there. I have heard that comebacks do not like princess rooms and so they definitely stay away! Seriously, this is a gorgeous job, well done, and the pillows are pretty. I love the little toy hutch. Perfect for playing.
