We had a fun weekend down in the sunny, southern part of the state. We were there for my sister's baby shower. She is due in just four weeks. We are so excited for her! I wanted to make a fun cake, because I like to make fun cakes, and decided to try fondant because I like the look. But fondant is gross stuff! Unless... you make it yourself out of pure sugar, which I did. One big bag of marshmallows and 2 pounds of powdered sugar. Mmmm! I have put the recipe for MM Fondant on my sidebar because it was fun, and I believe it was foolproof (if I got it right on the first try). I like to call it Mmmmmm! Fondant. Adelyn loved using the cookie/fondant cutters after I was done with the leftover, and Michael loved the leftover frosting to spread over his grahams. (Yes, that's probably all they really had for lunch that day, and the only reason they weren't in there pajamas all day was because Mike got them dressed before he left).
That's awesome. I agree that fondant tastes disgusting but it just looks so cute. I really am excited to try that recipe. Super cute cake by the way! You're a pro.
I love your cakes! You've inspired me to try something much more creative than the rectangle cake with canned frosting! I can't believe your sister is having a baby! I guess I still think of her in high school, but that's exciting for you guys to be having babies together. :)

Is Leslie really due that soon? That is crazy! A boy or a girl? My mom does not keep me updated! Cute cake! What did you make the blocks out of?
